Description:

Monticope Tablet is a combination medication that treats allergy symptoms such runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, puffiness, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness. It also lowers inflammation in the airways, making breathing easier.

Monticope Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Side Effects:

The most common adverse effects include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, dry mouth, headache, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and lethargy. The majority of these are transitory and normally resolve themselves over time. If you are concerned about any of these adverse effects, contact your doctor right away. This medication may cause dizziness and tiredness, so do not drive or perform other tasks that need mental focus until you know how it affects you. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication because it can exacerbate your tiredness.

Monticope Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast which treat sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks the action a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.
