Description:
Telma H Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling the blood pressure effectively. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke in the future

Telma H 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.
Interactions / Warnings:
Taking Hydrochlorothiazide with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
- Pregnancy interaction:
- Telma H 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
- Side Effects:
- Dizziness, Altered blood lipids.
- How to use:
- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telma H 40mg/12.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
- How it works:
- Telma H 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide which lower blood pressure effectively. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

- Q. What should I avoid while taking Telma H Tablet? You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless advised by your doctor. Also, avoid alcohol consumption as doing so can further lower your blood pressure and may cause some side effects. In addition to that, avoid getting dehydrated, drink enough fluids during exercise and in hot weather. The medicine may make you dizzy so avoid driving, using machinery or doing anything that needs concentration unless you know how this medicine affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down so you do not faint. Then sit for a few moments before standing to prevent feeling dizzy again. Q. What happens if I take too much of Telma H Tablet? If you accidentally take too much of Telma H Tablet, you may experience symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting and rapid heartbeat. However, in some cases slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function including kidney failure (e.g., reduced urine output) have also been reported. If you experience any such symptoms, contact your doctor immediately and seek medical help.
