Uses / Indications:

Trenaxa 500mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bleeding. It is used to prevent or reduce bleeding for short period of time in conditions like heavy periods, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, nosebleed, tooth removal, after prostate surgery or after bladder surgery.

Interactions / Warnings:

Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy interaction:

Trenaxa 500mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Do not take tranexamic acid: before the start of menstruation. If you are a woman >45 years of age If you are allergic to tranexamic acid or any of the ingredients of this medicine Do not continue tranexamic acid and consult your doctor If you experience skin rashes or other serious symptoms like swelling of face, lips and throat causing breathlessness or difficulty swallowing, as this may denote allergy. Consult your doctor if menstrual bleeding is not reduced after three menstrual cycles. To be sure this medication is not causing harmful effects, your vision may need to be tested while you are using tranexamic acid. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Trenaxa 500 Tablet promotes blood clotting and can rarely cause blood clot to travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) which can turn fatal sometimes. Pulmonary embolism is not a common side effect in patients taking Trenaxa 500 Tablet but can occur in overdosing, patients with long bedrest or prone individuals. Evidence suggests that the increased risk of clot can be due to some other additional risk factors as well. Q. Can you take Trenaxa 500 Tablet on an empty stomach? Trenaxa 500 Tablet can be taken with or without food with a glass of water. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole and should not be crushed or chewed.
