Description:
An antibiotic called supirocin ointment is used to treat a variety of skin infections, including recurrent boils and impetigo (red sores). It functions by eliminating specific germs. In addition to curing the underlying infection, this helps to alleviate your symptoms.
Supirocin Ointment should only be applied externally. Following your doctor's recommended dosage and application regimen, it should only be applied to the skin's afflicted area. Use it frequently, ideally at the same time every day, to reap the greatest benefits. Never apply it more frequently, in greater quantities, or for longer periods of time than recommended. The likelihood of adverse effects will only rise as a result. Use it no more than ten days at a time. Steer clear of your mouth, nose, or eyes. If you inadvertently get the medication in these locations, rinse it out with water.
Following application, local side effects such mild burning or itching could appear. If they continue or if your situation does not get better in three to five days, see your doctor. If you have ever experienced an allergy to this medication or any other medication, let your doctor know before using it. Before using it, women who are pregnant or nursing should speak with their doctor.
