GP 1 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called sulfonylureas and is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes thereby preventing serious complications of diabetes such as kidney damage and blindness
Uses / Indications:
GP 1mg Tablet is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Interactions / Warnings:
Alcohol intake may increase or decrease the blood sugar lowering action in an unpredictable way.
- Pregnancy interaction:
- GP 1mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

- Helps decrease high blood sugar level and avoids long-term complications of diabetes. Take just before or with the first main meal of the day (usually breakfast). Avoid skipping meals. Exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) alongside. Learn how to identify and manage symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) such as sweating, rapid heartbeat, weakness, blurry vision, and headache, and teach your family as well. Avoid drinking alcohol.

- How it works:
- GP 1mg Tablet is an anti-diabetic medication (sulphonylurea). It works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose.

- Q. Does GP 1 Tablet make you sleepy? GP 1 Tablet itself does not cause sleepiness. However, it may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) when used with other anti-diabetes medicine. Because of this you may feel sleepy or have problems in sleeping. Q. Is GP 1 Tablet safe for kidneys? GP 1 Tablet does not affect kidneys in patients with normal kidney function. However, its use should be avoided in patients with severe kidney disease since GP 1 Tablet is principally eliminated by the kidneys. Q. Does GP 1 Tablet cause memory loss? No, it is not known that GP 1 Tablet causes memory loss. However, the use of GP 1 Tablet may cause low blood sugar which may cause problems with concentration and reduced alertness.
